October 6, 2025The European Geothermal Congress 2025 took place between the 6th and the 10th of October 2025 in Zurich, Switzerland. The project ARTS took part on this important event.

September 8, 2025On September 4th 2025, Eawag’s Info Day 2025 took place. In this year’s edition “Groundwater – utilising and protecting the resource drinking water”, the ARTS project had the pleasure to be featured alongside a set of very relevant research projects within the institute.

December 10, 2024After the first months of monitoring, the need for additional stations for the assessment of the undisturbed groundwater flow conditions around the project area became more and more clear. The scientific team thus decided for the drilling of four additional piezometers around the project area.

September 16, 2024On Friday September 13th and Saturday September 14th, 2024, the open Day at the Empa and Eawag campus took place. The ARTS project was part of this very important event!

July 9, 2024The Scientific team has started this month the monitoring and sampling activities as part of the ARTS project.

December 7, 2023December 2023 marks the start of the drilling activities conceived as part of the ARTS project. Three new boreholes, also called observation boreholes, will allow the ARTS scientific team to analyse the impact of temperature changes induced by the HT-BTES facility on the aquifer at locations upstream, in immediate vicinity, and downstream of the facility.
